[00:00:00] Vesna: Welcome to the Peak Revival Podcast. My name is Vesna, and today I'm gonna talk about why we should do things together and why surrounding yourself with people who are already doing what you want is the easiest way for you to get there. Surround yourself with people doing what you want to do. If you find yourself struggling in your health or in [00:01:00] an area of your life, then find out why doing it on your own could be the absolute hardest way to do this and a community may make things so much easier.
Before I started my online business, my online programs and the groups, I used to do everything one-on-one. And to me that was the most effective way to help somebody to get the transformation in the most efficient way. And then. It was suggested to me to do a, you know, I end up saying the same things over and over again.
Why don't I record them, put 'em into the course and deliver it that way? And I was like, Hmm, I don't think that's going to work. Right. And I begrudgingly did it. It took me some time before I actually agreed to it, and I thought, this isn't going to work because I need to be part of their process. Right. I need to be part of the person's journey because.
I am there to help them. So what I found was when I released the first iteration of Bye-bye burnout, and it was only a very small group, but the transformation was pretty wild. Okay. I have to say. And then when I ran it again, I was [00:02:00] really shocked. So what I was shocked about was that actually I didn't need to be the picture.
Surprise, surprise. obviously it's my method, but what I found was the power of a community, which I had not known or seen before. So the power of a community to allow you to create the changes with a lot more ease, to keep up momentum and motivation, and to overcome a lot of your roadblocks that are standing in your way.
So after I ran it as a group program, it didn't make sense for me to continue just doing one-on-one because it actually felt like I was not doing the best service that way. Right. So doing the community work and doing the group work is so much more impactful than doing just one-on-one. And so if someone's working with me one-on-one, and yes, people do that obviously, but there is so much to gain out of a community, and I'm gonna explain to you why that is.
really when we are looking at changing anything about our life, we're changing, our health healing should not be done alone. We are already [00:03:00] experiencing so much loneliness. So apparently in Australia, a quarter of Australians have reported feeling lonely and researchers have found that there are different types of loneliness.
There are Feeling, lonely in intimate areas. So lacking a romantic partner. social loneliness and not having enough friendships. But then there's also community loneliness, which is yearning for a community of like-minded people. And that is what you get in a group, right? So I've seen people in the group because a lot of the time as people are going through something.
Some of the symptoms concern them, how long it's taking them to implement something concerns them. Like there is just little things along the way that that sabotage people's progress. And so in the group, hearing other people's journey makes you feel like, wow, that's totally normal. Oh, yes, I'm struggling with that too.
Okay. Maybe that's just part of the process, right.
The community normalises your experience, and in my experience that when you normalize your experience, it is much easier to work through that process. Okay? When we feel like [00:04:00] something's wrong or is big or bad or ugly, whatever it is, it is harder to work through.
Okay? So the community keeps you motivated, keeps you moving through your roadblocks, helps you to see your roadblocks because. Sometimes it's just easier to see it when somebody else is going through a problem and staying stuck and you're like, oh, I can totally see what their problem is, and then you can see it in yourself.
You know, they say that we are the average of the five people that we spend our time with. And so when I talk to women in the community, like you are in a community of like-minded women who are implementing and overcoming the same challenges together at the same time. So say your whole family goes on to a health program with you, it makes it so much easier to stick to it.
Right? And so having that community is having your. Community doing the same process that you are doing, so it creates a lot more ease.
When we look at healing together, there was many years ago, back in the times of ancient Greece, if people were feeling sick or unsatisfied with their life [00:05:00] or wanted to turn a corner in their life, they would go to visit one of the hundreds of healing centers around Greece and the Mediterranean.
going to these healing centers wasn't just about showing up, getting your herbs, getting your medicines, and leaving. It was a whole process. It was a literally a journey. So you would have to spend a few days to walk to the Healing Center on your journey. You would see people who were leaving and they would share their stories about what they achieved there, right?
And sharing those stories. The people would feel uplifted walking towards a healing, center, right? They would feel, excited. They would feel inspired. They're almost halfway there, right? In the way that they feel. So the sharing of the stories was really important. And then once they got to the temple, there was a whole process that they had to do.
They had to wait outside the temple to be, fasting and cleansed because as they entered, they needed to leave all their worldly distractions behind, right? They needed to enter this temple. Or this healing center [00:06:00] with a lot of mental clarity and let go of a lot of the worldly things. And within the temple, they would get herbal medicines, they would have their dreams interpreted, they would spend a lot of time in the gardens in contemplation to understand.
Why they're at, where they're at, why they're unhappy with their life or why they're sick. Right? And it was a really powerful part of the journey. So in some ways there was a lot of that work that was done together, and then there was time to pull away and do the self-reflection and the contemplation in order to uncover the hidden meaning why we get sick or why we're unhappy with our lives.
And then once they left the temple, they shared their stories with everybody so they shared of what they overcome and what insights they'd have and what clarity came to them about. Where they're at in that point in their life. Okay? And so it just reinforces that this has been around for a very long time.
We share stories, we do things better together than what we ever did alone. And if you are struggling with something right now that [00:07:00] I really would urge you to look at, well, how is a community going to serve you? How can you find your people? How can you immerse yourself with your people who have got the same intention, who want the same outcomes, and who are working towards it?
And. A hundred percent they're gonna hit their own or meet their own challenges and, and saboteurs and how are they overcoming it, right? And really normalizing that process. I recently joined a mastermind where, it's gonna require a lot of travel and it's very expensive, and I don't have any one-on-one with the leader of the who is.
it's his mastermind, right? And, I've signed up for the community, right? 'cause the community is so powerful. There's people going in directions that I wanna go in. There's people doing things that I want to be doing. I wanna be around those people. I wanna know how they think. I wanna know what they're doing.
I wanna hear what they share their strategies, right? And so sometimes we look for, you know, the right person to work with or whatever it is. And sometimes it really comes down to. How much can a community [00:08:00] influence you in the direction that you want to go?
So if this is you, leave a comment below. I'd love to know, have you seen the power of a community to help you to take action and do things that you wouldn't normally do? Right? what might help you right now that in an area that you're stuck in, how may a community help you to accelerate your progress?
