Warren Buffett said, “If you can't manage your emotions, you can't manage money.” And in my experience, this is so true!
🔁 Business is an emotional roller coaster and if you’re not in control of your emotions, it’s easy to go from feeling on top of things to feeling completely overwhelmed and burnt out.
When we look at top performers, it's not that they don't have challenges and stresses, they just know how to navigate them without letting it affect their emotional wellbeing.
Blood sugar fluctuations are another big issue. If you’re missing meals, living off caffeine, or eating the wrong kind of carbohydrates, it can cause your glucose levels to go up and down. This makes you feel anxious, irritable, and drained, which affects your ability to focus and lead effectively.
There’s a more intelligent, intuitive kind of thinking that comes from a calm and clear mind. This kind of thinking will help you navigate challenges, make better decisions, and lead with confidence. Einstein knew this – when he was stuck on a problem, he’d step away and play the violin, knowing the answer would come once his mind was clear.
During sleep, your brain detoxifies and processes emotions, so you wake up with a clearer perspective on your problems. If you’re missing out on this deep, restorative sleep, it’s going to be much harder to maintain emotional balance during the day.
Remember, you don’t have to implement all these changes at once. Start with one or two, and you’ll begin to notice a difference in how you manage your emotions.
