When depression hits, it doesn’t just affect your mood – it changes every part of your life…
Your work, your relationships, your motivation, and even your physical health can all be impacted.
And if you’ve been struggling for years, it can feel like the only solution is to make drastic changes, like quitting your job, leaving your relationship, or even blowing up your entire life.
The root cause of depression isn’t always what we think, and finding a solution can often be simpler than we expect.
👉 That’s exactly what Kim discovered after spending five years in a dark place.
She believed her depression was caused by hormonal changes during perimenopause, but the real issue turned out to be something entirely different – and once she had the knowledge to address it, everything in her life began to change.
Stress hormones
When Kim joined my Buh Bye Burnout program, she was heavily medicated for depression, she had tried every form of HRT (hormone replacement therapy) and multiple other programs, but nothing had helped her feelings of anxiety and disconnection.
What she didn’t realize was that the root cause of her depression wasn’t just hormonal – it was also due to how much stress she felt on a day to day basis.
Kim’s body was stuck in a constant state of fight or flight, meaning her system never had a chance to heal. When you’re operating in survival mode, your body can’t repair itself, no matter what supplements you take.
The first thing we did in the program was focus on reducing her stress hormones. We made small but powerful changes, like cutting out caffeine and making sure she was getting quality sleep.
Within just 2 weeks, things started to shift and she began to feel like her old self again.
Stacking Stress
One of the biggest realizations Kim had in the program was realizing how much she was stacking stress throughout her day.
👉 Each small problem would pile on top of the last, building up until she felt completely overwhelmed.
Once Kim learned how to stop stress from building up, everything changed. Her mind became clearer, and she finally broke free from that constant mental stress.
Your ability to manage stress has a huge impact on your mood, your mental clarity, and your energy levels.
Gut Health
Kim also discovered that her gut health was playing a major role in her depression. There’s a well-known connection between your gut and your brain, known as the gut-brain axis.
👉 When your gut is inflamed due to poor diet, stress, or other factors, it can affect everything from mental performance to mood, and even your sleep.
In the program, she focused on healing her gut, restoring her microbiome, and eliminating common inflammatory foods like gluten and dairy.
This helped to stabilize her mood and improve her mental performance.
The changes were subtle at first, but over time, it made a massive difference in her overall health and happiness.
