Common Mood Disruptors
Do not underestimate the power of your diet to influence your mood, resilience, mental health and productivity.
If you feel at the end of your rope sometimes – foggy brain, tired, stressed-out, anxious and constantly worried about EVERYTHING!
How to resolve anxiety, low mood and depression through diet – try these dietary changes for 2-4 weeks:
1. Eliminate GMO’s
Genetically-modified foods are chemical products that are saturated with toxic herbicides, causing damage to our gut-brain health.
Our gut has around 500 million nerve cells and 98% of our serotonin (our feel good hormone).
When gut function is impaired it affects our mood and is linked to anxiety and depression.
2. Remove Gluten
Gluten is the protein in wheat, rye and barley, and it’s often processed with GMO oils.
It’s toxic effects begin in the gut where it breakdowns the lining causing permeability, systemic inflammation which ultimately inflames the brain and thyroid gland, disrupting delicate brain chemistry and hormones.
3. Cut out sugar
The average person consumes 22 teaspoons of sugar a day.
Sugar imbalance can look like anxiety, panic attacks, depression and even bipolar.
It triggers insulin surges that drop sugar levels, leaving you feeling on edge, jittery, anxious, tired, and foggy. It also promotes insulin resistance in the body and brain which means sugar can’t be used for fuel and fat begins to stack on your belly.
These are my top 3 mood disruptors…
