Do you feel like you’re doing all the right things – eating well, exercising, getting enough sleep – but those negative symptoms just won’t budge? Sometimes the foods we eat and our daily habits just aren’t as healthy as we think – leaving us stuck in a cycle of confusion, wondering what to do next.
Like a recent client of mine who thought she was making healthy choices by eating only organic foods but, culturally, her diet was made up of a lot of grains like rice and flatbread.
And even though she was choosing good quality foods, 👉she still had elevated liver enzymes, 👉fatty liver, 👉high cholesterol, 👉constant gut problems, 👉and chronic nausea.
Her GP was concerned because her markers weren't improving. Sometimes they'd go up, sometimes they'd come down, but they remained high overall.
When she started working with me the first thing we did was cut all the grains from her diet, which was really tough for her. She struggled for about six weeks, feeling like she was going to give up many times.
But with my support and her perseverance within three and a half months:
🎉 The signs of fatty liver had vanished
🎉 Her cholesterol levels were back to normal
🎉 Her gut problems and nausea had completely disappeared
If she hadn’t sought outside help from an expert she probably would still be struggling with those symptoms that were making her life miserable. Because she thought she was doing everything right.
Sometimes the foods we grew up eating and the foods our communities still eat, just don’t serve us anymore.
Foods that were healthy many years ago, are now highly processed and making us sick. Like grains – today they are heavily processed and sprayed with chemicals, causing inflammation and leaky gut.
Making these changes can be really tough especially when everyone else around you is eating a certain way but if you stick with it the results can be life-changing.
Cutting grains is just one of the ways we can take our health back into our hands, heal our bodies and feel better.
