Just got back from my morning F45 gym class and if you've never done one, they're 45 minutes of med-high intensity cardio + resistance training.
It's challenging and I could wring my hair out afterwards I sweat THAT much, but right now, I'm loving it.
I was in the middle of my cool down stretch when a girl mention that she does 3 classes a day.
OMG!!
I was (and still am) shocked.
And her reason why?
So she can eat whatever she wants……
OMG!!!
It made me wonder what this young, slim woman in her 20's wants to eat everyday that she needs to do this level of training.
If you're doing it to be athlete fit, for endurance, or building a super strong body, that makes sense.
But to eat whatever?!
Driving home I realised she had placed ‘rules' around what she needed to do in order to get what she wanted.
So let me ask YOU:
Because that “measurement” is your limitation, and it's preventing you for letting it be so damn easy.
I still catch myself doing the same thing.
That chocolate is bad and chips are toxic…and while science proves these foods bad everyday, is a little going to kill me. Absolutely not. Or make me fat, hell no!
I've had clients in perfect health in their 70's who started their day everyday with a coffee and biscuit (no diabetes, no pharmaceutical meds & no illness)
I've also had clients come to me doing ALL the ‘right' things who struggle to lose weight even though they eat like a sparrow, or suffer fatigue chronically even though they take a about 10 herbal supplements.
Why? A big part of what we think about what we do, or need to do, affects how our body behaves.
A study was done to prove this:
They took 84 women, hotel room attendants, who felt they were getting no exercise, not even on the job. They were separated into 2 groups:
One group were told by the researchers that cleaning hotel rooms was actually very good exercise, and the other group were told nothing.
Activities for both groups did not change but the first group perceived they were getting significantly more exercise than ever before.
The surprising results after 4 weeks:
First (informed) group showed a reduction in weight, blood pressure, body fat, waist to hip ratio and body mass index!!
The Second group had zero change.
This occurred with no change to activity or diet but simply because they believed they were doing exercise.
What are your rules?
Is it time to pick new ones?!
