Yesterday was one of those days!
The technology gods were not on my side, from my video freezing, editing issues, and my electric standing desk refusing to stand.
I recorded a new video for my 1:1 Peak Revival Program, I shared how women in business and leadership get back to peak performance, where they have energy on tap, joy in their work, a high tolerance to stress and lose weight.
One of the tools we use to track client's metabolic response to food and stress is a continuous glucose monitor.
Our glucose levels affect our mood, brain, and weight, esp belly fat, and much more.
My glucose completely flatlined yesterday. See the screenshot below, I was in the red zone for hours.
I wasn't surprised, whenever I present, speak, or do a live training my glucose levels drop very low and it takes a lot to get it back up.
It's good to know this!
If I hadn't known this, I would never know to eat MORE before a presentation (not less), and esp carbohydrates, and refuel afterward (except yesterday I didn't eat enough, because I was trying to prove a point on the training).
Stable glucose levels is the quickest way to:
Boost energy
Reduce anxiety & improve mood
Improve sleep
Reduce cravings
Increase satiety
Lose weight
Lose belly fat
Increase muscle tone
And that's why we monitor it in the Peak Revival Program – these are all the reasons women join.
For many high-performing women, insulin resistance is a problem, due to high stress, poor diet, alcohol and poor sleep. The body needs more insulin to move glucose into our cells, and throws off the balance of other hormones.
