Do you feel tired after lunch? Do you find that you get to 2:00, 3:00 PM, 4:00PM., and you feel like you would just crash?
Maybe you have to be in meetings for the afternoon, and you just want to doze off or have a little nap under your desk?
If this is you, if you feel tired in the afternoon, and you're reaching for the coffee and the biscuit or something sweet, then it's most likely that your previous meal, your lunch, wasn't a good meal to sustain your blood glucose levels.
And so, what will happen is that, a few hours later your sugar levels will crash, you feel tired, could be even anxious, you could be irritable, moody, snappy, et cetera, and you're reaching for things to kind of elevate blood sugar levels again.
Coffee, sweets, carbs. If this is you what I'd recommend to do is to change what you're having for lunch, so making sure that you're not having anything sugary, sweet, too high in refined carbohydrates, grains, pastas, breads, and things like that. And making sure that you have enough protein, things like your chicken, your meat, your fish, eggs.
Those proteins will help to keep your blood glucose levels stable, so that your sugar levels don't crash in the afternoon, and you won't feel tired, and you won't have the cravings for sugar and sweets as well.
Now, if you feel tired all the time, if you feel like you wake up tired, and then you're tired pretty much for the rest of the day, you may have some highs and lows, but then you crash again in the afternoon.
Maybe you're up again at night and you go to bed late. And maybe, if you find that you feel pretty stressed and anxious quite a lot of the time, then I'm running a workshop this week, where I'm going to talk more about that, and what you can do.
So that fatigue that's like that chronic, kind of perpetual fatigue and anxiety and stress, and unexplained weight gain, I'm going to talk about that in a lot more detail in the upcoming webinar.
